Overview of the Role
We are currently seeking a Natural Resource Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, the Natural Resource Coordinator will assist in developing, coordinating, and implementing NTBB’s natural resource activities and projects. You will support land stewardship initiatives, environmental monitoring, community engagement, and assist in ensuring sustainable management of NTBB’s traditional lands and resources.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, some weekends and evenings
Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (40 hours per week)
Location: Onsite at 47805 Olson Road Burns Lake
Monthly Travel Stipend provided, based on length of travel to the office.
Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel within the territory over a variety of terrain.

Job Description
What You will do
• Assist with developing and coordinating natural resource policies, plans, and strategies.
• Help monitor land use, forestry, fisheries, wildlife, and water resource activities.
• Support the integration of traditional ecological knowledge into stewardship efforts.
• Work alongside external partners, consultants, and government agencies on projects.
• Help organize and participate in community engagement sessions.
• Support the protection of culturally significant sites.
• Help identify funding opportunities and assist in the preparation of grant applications.
• Ensure projects comply with environmental regulations and NTBB’s goals.
What you Bring
Required Qualifications:
• Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Indigenous Governance, or a related field (a combination of education and experience will be considered).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting projects in natural resources, environmental monitoring, or Indigenous governance.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
