Tetsu Sushi Bar, an authentic Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar, located in Vancouver’s Downtown West End, is seeking a Head Cook to join the team.

Permanent, full-time; 30-40 hours per week; $22.00 per hour. Bonus available based on sales performance.

Standard 6-8 hour shifts for this position could be scheduled anytime between 9:00am and 11:00pm as required.

Job Description

Duties:
• Cook everything on the menu;
• Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness;
• Coordinate and oversee kitchen staff and cooks in managing the preparation of meals;
• Ensure all meals leaving the kitchen are consistent in presentation and quality;
• Provide training to new kitchen staff on matters of hygiene, Japanese cuisine techniques, and other matters.

Qualifications:
• Secondary school completion preferred;
• Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a professional cook;
• Japanese language ability is an asset;
• English language is required.
