Are you an experienced Specialty Foods Chef with Thai Food specialty as an experience AND looking for a permanent, full-time (35hrs/week) position with opportunities to grow? Do you thrive in a dynamic yet peaceful environment where your culinary skills are highly valued?

We are currently seeking a dedicated Specialty Foods Chef to join our team. In this role, you will:
• Design, plan, and execute a variety of authentic Thai dishes and signature meals, ensuring culinary authenticity is served.
• Lead the development and seasonal rotation of the restaurant’s menu, creating new recipes and refining existing ones in accordance with customer feedback and brand vision.
• Direct all kitchen operations, including workflow optimization, task delegation, and maintaining high standards for food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Supervise, schedule, and provide hands-on training to kitchen staff, including line cooks and kitchen helpers, with a focus on traditional Thai cooking methods, spice blending, and specialty preparations.
• Monitor and control food costs through meticulous inventory tracking, portion control, and waste minimization strategies. Maintain accurate records of ingredient consumption, supplier performance, and food costing.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in food preparation areas, equipment, and surfaces.
• Source and select high-quality ingredients to preserve the authenticity and freshness of all dishes.
• Collaborate with restaurant owner on menu direction and food branding to strengthen the restaurant’s reputation
Job Description
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
• High School diploma required; completion of cooking training preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, with a passion for food and team leadership.
• Outgoing, punctual, friendly, and dedicated to upholding high standards.
• Team player and passion for cooking high-quality Thai dishes.
• Dedicated, hardworking, honest and responsible.
Additional Information:
• Shift work required, including mornings, afternoons, late nights, and weekends.
• Full-time position, 35 hours per week.
• Competitive salary of $37 per hour.
• Location: 2143 W 41st Ave, Vancouver, BC, V6M 1Z6.
