Job Description

Specific Skills:
• Transport goods over long distances across provinces or countries while adhering to delivery schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicle systems and equipment (tires, brakes, lights, etc.).
• Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured to prevent shifting or damage.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and records of hours of service, fuel purchases, and mileage as per regulations.
• Plan routes efficiently using GPS and maps, adjusting for traffic, weather, and road conditions.
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including DOT and provincial transport laws.
• Communicate with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or special instructions.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance or report mechanical issues promptly to ensure road safety.
• Ensure documentation accuracy, including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and delivery confirmations.
