Hopcott Farms is a third-generation family own farm established in 1932 that has been providing the highest quality locally sourced natural meats, produce and grocery items through the in-house retail shop since 2006. Due to the opening of a new meat processing facility the company is looking to hire four (4) permanent full-time Slaughterhouse Butchers.
Position Responsibilities:
• Slaughter livestock using stunning devices and knives (no more than 2-3 days per week).
• Skin, clean and trim carcasses.
• Remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
• Split carcasses into smaller portions for further cutting, processing and packaging.
• Remove bones from meat.
• Cut and package meat for commercial use.
• Ensure work areas are clean and compliant with all food safety and hygiene standards.

Job Description

Qualifications:
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
• Ability to accurately work at production line speed.
• Physically fit and able to lift, push, and pull weight of up to 50 lbs.
• Able to handle repetitive tasks.
• Consistent commitment to working safely.

Requirements:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a program in industrial meat cutting will be considered an asset.
• Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an industrial butcher.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Location of employment: 18211 Old Dewdney Trunk Road, Pitt Meadows, BC V3Y 2R9.
Compensation: $22.00 per hour for 40 hours of work per week.
Available Benefits: Health and Dental Insurance available after 6 months of full-time employment with the company.
