Ice River Springs Water Co. Inc. (“Ice River”) is more than just a bottled water company. We’re recyclers and environmental problem solvers, committed to recycling 100% of our plastic, again and again. We have our own recycling facility and collaborate with other companies to produce eco-friendly packaging and products that are made from 100% recycled PET plastic.

Ice River is currently looking for six (6) Starlinger Operators to join our team. You will be working at our Feversham facility, located at 494306 Grey Road 2, Feversham, Ontario, N0C 1C0.

These are permanent, full-time positions, based on 88 hours of work per 2-week cycle, with occasional overtime. At this time, we are only looking for individuals who can work a 12-hour rotating continental shift.

Position

As a Starlinger Operator, you will be responsible for the set up, maintenance and safe operation of Ice River’s plastics extrusion machines. Duties include the following:

• Operating plastics extrusion machine through Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) touchscreen;
• Ensuring machine has a constant supply of resin in the hopper, and clearing any jams, as required;
• Removing purge generated by the machine, and disposing of it in accordance with safety procedures;
• Changing filters and cleaning machine components;
• Performing product quality inspections, and flagging any issues;
• Completing production output checks, and documenting any downtime;
• Labelling finished materials, and transferring into bags for shipment or storage;
• Operating forklift to load and transport materials;
• Performing basic troubleshooting, minor repairs and preventative tasks to ensure product is within required specifications and production is not interrupted; and
• Following all GMP's, HACCP and 5S procedures to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who meets the following minimum requirements:

• Successful completion of secondary school.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Familiar with quality inspection processes.
• Able to operate a forklift.
• Able to perform physically demanding and repetitive work, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50lbs.
• Effective problem solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.
• Detailed oriented and able to consistently follow processes and perform required tasks as instructed, in a timely fashion.
• Able to follow plant policies and guidelines.
• Able to communicate instructions (verbal and written) in English.
• Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating continental shift, with occasional overtime.
• Prior experience is an asset

Compensation

We offer a generous compensation package, which includes:

• Starting wage of $22.00 per hour, less applicable statutory deductions and withholdings. Following completion of your 3-month probation period, your hourly rate will increase to $22.25.
• Overtime will be paid at 1.5 time your regular hourly rate, after 88 hours worked in a 2-week work cycle.
• 10 days of paid vacation per year.

• Roundtrip transportation costs for out of province applicants
• Private health care insurance coverage for out of province applicants (equal to the Ontario provincial health insurance plan) until such a time that the applicant is eligible for Ontario provincial health insurance
